Winter returns to Dawson Creek following Sunday snowfall warning

The scenery across the South Peace changed drastically on Monday after the snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada on Sunday.

Up to 15 centimetres of snow fell in Dawson Creek on Sunday. The morning brought light snow, followed by periods of freezing rain in the afternoon.

More flurries appeared later Sunday night and continued into Monday. Environment Canada also predicts a 60 percent chance of snow over the next two days.

With warmer weather expected later in the week, the winter landscape may only be temporary.

For now, Argo Road Maintenance is reminding drivers to be prepared and to adjust their driving to changing road conditions.

“If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance,” the company says.
