The Village of Pouce Coupe has announced new initiatives to help seniors live independently in their own homes.
According to the village, the Seniors Support Program will begin in early October.
Seniors in Pouce Coupe will be able to access a meal program, in which meals will be delivered to their doors for $5 each, three times a week.
Housekeeping services will also be offered twice a month at a cost of $17.50 per visit.
During the winter season, seniors can access snow removal services up to three times a month, available from November through March.
The village partnered with the United Way British Columbia Better at Home program, the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living, and the South Peace Community Resources Society to make the project possible.
“This program is another step in supporting Pouce Coupe’s seniors, said Danielle Veach, the mayor.
Each service will accept up to 15 participants, with a waitlist once capacity is reached. The Seniors Support Program will accept residents aged 65 or older, as well as younger adults who require support following program guidelines.
Application forms are available at the Village Office and through the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living.
