TAYLOR, B.C. - A vehicle that ended up in the Pine River near Taylor last week has been removed from the water, with authorities saying no injuries were reported and no criminal activity was found.
According to the Fort St. John RCMP, officers responded on July 30 to a report of a vehicle in the water near the Y intersection, by Big Bam Road in Taylor.
When officers arrived at the scene they discovered the vehicle had been driven into the water and abandoned.
The North Peace Search and Rescue Swiftwater Team was tasked by the RCMP and assisted in the recovery effort.
Search and rescue crews deployed specialized equipment to extract the vehicle from the river, completing the operation without incident. Police said a towing company also assisted with the recovery.
Investigators determined there was no criminal element involved in the incident and confirmed no one was injured.
The matter was subsequently investigated by the BC Conservation Officer Service, which issued violation tickets to the vehicle’s owner. RCMP did not provide further details on the nature of the violations.
