The Vancouver Canucks are doing their part to support families affected by the Tumbler Ridge tragedy.
The team has invited several families to watch Saturday’s game against the Seattle Kraken from their private VIP lounge.
According to a social media post by Cia Edmonds, the families could enjoy a ton of food, met retired players, and spent time with Canucks mascot Finn the Whale.

Edmonds the mother of 12-year-old Maya Gebala, who is recovering in a Vancouver hospital after being shot twice in the February 10 attack.
After the game, Edmonds says Canucks forward Brock Boeser visited to the families. “At the end, Brock Boeser himself came and showed some love to all the children. What a cool experience,” she said.
Edmonds attended the game with her other daughter, Dahlia, and says Maya would have loved to be there with them.
Edmonds says the experience allowed them to recognize the value of connecting with other families dealing with the tragedy, adding she has been in the hospital since the day it happened.
