Two wildfires burning north of Fort St. John are currently being held, according to the BC Wildfire Service.

The fires are located northwest of Rose Prairie. One blaze, near Whispering Pine Lake, was discovered Wednesday and has since grown to 13.2 hectares in size.

The second wildfire is burning just north of 262 Road and is estimated at one hectare.

Officials believe both fires are human-caused. Based on current ground and weather conditions, the BC Wildfire Service says the fires are expected to remain within their current perimeters.
