The BC Wildfire Service said a two hectares wildfire was discovered south of Fort St. John.

According to the wildfire service, the fire started on September 21. It said the fire is located just south of the Peace River, about 7 kilometres west of Taylor.

The wildfire was still listed as out of control this morning, but its status was changed to being held just after 10 am.

Firefighters are still on scene and the wildfire is projected to stay within its current perimeter based on weather conditions and resource availability.

The wildfire service noted that it suspects the fire was human caused.
