The winner of Kraft Hockeyville will be announced Saturday during the second intermission of Hockey Night in Canada.
Residents of Tumbler Ridge are invited to a watch party at the Community Centre Arena, described by the district as “an unforgettable day of community spirit, hockey, and hometown pride.”
The arenas in Tumbler Ridge and Taber, Alberta, are this year’s finalists. The winning community will receive $250,000 in arena upgrades and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.
The event is organized by the District of Tumbler Ridge in partnership with the Tumbler Ridge Minor Hockey Association.
The ice will be removed, and the watch party will take place on the arena floor at the Community Centre Arena. A large inflatable projector screen will be installed to broadcast Hockey Night in Canada.
Doors open at 1 pm, a barbecue will be held between 4 pm and 6 pm, and activities will be organized for youth. More details can be found on the watch party’s Facebook page.
A Hockey Night in Canada crew will also be in Tumbler Ridge, filming the event for the national broadcast.
“Let’s pack the arena and rally together to show why Tumbler Ridge deserves to be #KraftHockeyville2026,” the district said.
Voting opens at 6 am Friday on the Kraft Hockeyville website.
