TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — Residents across the Peace Region are being invited to gather in Tumbler Ridge Monday for a community celebration tied to the FIFA World Cup.
The free, family-friendly event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Centre lower parking lot.
Organizers say the event is part of “Canada Celebrates,” a nationwide initiative bringing World Cup-themed festivities to dozens of communities across the country.
The day will feature a live outdoor viewing of a World Cup match on a giant screen, along with interactive soccer activities, a mini pitch, entertainment, and food vendors.
Tumbler Ridge Mayor Darryl Krakowka says the event comes at a meaningful time for the community.
He says it will give residents a chance to come together, spend time with one another, and enjoy a positive experience close to home.
