The Tumbler Ridge Health Centre has extended hours of operation to ensure community support after the recent tragic events.

The Health Centre will be open seven days a week from February 13 to March 6, between 7 am and 11 pm.

Residents can drop in for appointments with a mental health clinician during that time.

Extended hours include primary and urgent care provided by nurse practitioners with physician support, and lab and X-ray services.

The emergency department will continue to be open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, and residents should still call 911 for emergency care if needed.

Extra personnel were deployed in the community to allow local staff to rest. The help comes from other health authorities and partners across the province.

Northern Health is running a shuttle service between Tumbler Ridge and other communities across the Peace Region, including Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. The service is free to use for the public and healthcare staff.
