Dawson Road Maintenance continues to urge drivers to avoid Cecil Lake Road on the east hills of the Beatton Valley as cleanup efforts get underway following a rockslide earlier this week.

In a social media update, the road maintenance contractor announced that cleanup began at 8:30 a.m. this morning, with single-lane alternating traffic still in effect on Cecil Lake 103 Road.

Delays of up to 20 minutes are expected, according to the company.

“Please be patient, crews are working hard to keep the road open and safe for motorists,” said Dawson Road Maintenance.

DriveBC is advising drivers to watch for traffic control in the area following the incident, which was first reported on March 25.

The next update is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. today.
