The City of Dawson Creek in advising motorists that the Traffic Circle will be closed for part of the day on Tuesday for construction.

The Traffic Circle will be closed on Tuesday, June 3 from 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM for paving. This closure will impact traffic from Highway 2 (Alaska Avenue), Highway 49, and 8th Street.

Local traffic is asked to plan alternative routes using city streets and to follow all posted signs and instructions from traffic control personnel.

Heavy trucks and through traffic are being advised to bypass Dawson Creek by using the Dangerous Goods Route, Rolla Road, or 210 Road.

In addition, paving will also take place along Alaska Avenue in the afternoon or following the completion of the Traffic Circle work. Expect single-lane alternating traffic in that area.

Motorists are being reminded to slow down in construction zones and obey all traffic signs and personnel.
