DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Residents have until the end of today access municipal services at Dawson Creek City Hall before staff and operations relocate to a temporary location.
Dawson Creek City Hall at its current location will remain open until 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 17. Beginning Monday, July 20, municipal services will operate out of a temporary office inside the Dawson Creek Mall.
The temporary City Hall will be located to the right of Save-On-Foods, with visitors asked to enter through the mall’s main entrance beside the grocery store.
The city says signage will be installed to help direct residents to the new location.
Officials say all regular municipal services will continue to be available during normal business hours while renovations are underway.
The relocation was first announced last month as part of a project aimed at addressing asbestos contamination within the current City Hall building and completing necessary renovations.
The city says the work is needed to ensure a safe and healthy facility for both staff and residents.
The temporary move is expected to remain in place while remediation and renovation work is carried out at the existing City Hall facility.
Residents looking for more information about the project can visit the is the City of Dawson Creek website.
