Fort St. John – Subway’s annual Never Miss Lunch campaign, which supports Food Banks Canada through cookie sales from June 16 to 22, is taking on a local twist this year.
The Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society (FSJWRS) is partnering with local Subway locations to raise awareness and funds for their Outreach Store, which provides free food and essentials to vulnerable individuals in the community.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our local Subway for supporting us and giving us this space during their busiest hours,” said Amanda Trotter, Executive Director of the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society.
From June 16 to 20, FSJWRS will be setting up daily fundraising tables at various Subway locations across Fort St. John from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Visitors can support the cause while enjoying fun, skill-based activities like a trivia spin-the-wheel game and a “Guess How Many” challenge.
“Our Outreach Store received over 16,000 visits last year, and the demand continues to grow. We are always in need of food and resources to keep it open and running. Partnerships like this truly make a difference in our ability to serve the community,” said Trotter.
Participation in the trivia spin-the-wheel game is available for a $2 or more donation, while the “Guess How Many” jar challenge requires a $5 or more donation. All proceeds go directly to FSJWRS programs.
Everyone who takes part in the “Guess How Many” challenge will have a chance to win a Hoverboard Colour Chrome Pink, valued at $190. The person with the closest guess by the end of the week will be contacted after the final day.
“We’re proud to support the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society and their vital programs,” said Tony Som, owner of local Subway locations.

“We believe in their mission and are happy to be a part of it. In the past, we’ve helped fill buckets of food for their Outreach Store. This year, we wanted to not only donate food, but also do something different, and we’re excited to help create a fun and engaging way for people to give back,” said Som.
