A recent break-in at a storage shed in Dawson Creek is raising questions about an on-going fraud investigation concerning the South Peace Soccer Association.
The shed, located at the Paul Loiselle Soccer Park, was broken into on January 13th. While the shed is primarily used for storing equipment and supplies, sources say they believe someone may have been looking for records and paperwork.
According to police, nothing was stolen but a desk drawer was rummaged through.
It happened at the same time that an RCMP investigation is being conducted, looking into money going missing from the association.
CJDC TV News has been investigating the possible theft since the fall of 2024. Sources say approximately $40,000 allegedly went missing, sometime before 2023.
CJDC TV has learned the name of the person at the centre of the investigation, however we are withholding it as charges have yet been laid.
If anyone has any information about the break-in, they are being asked to contact Dawson Creek RCMP.
None of the allegations in this story have been proven in a court of law.
