The City of Dawson Creek has launched its annual Spring Sweep program, with cleanup efforts now underway across the community.
The seasonal initiative helps remove winter gravel, yard waste and debris left behind after the winter season. Local non-profit groups are joining city staff to clean up public spaces, streets and boulevards.
“It’s an opportunity to support those in need, give back to the community, and keep Dawson Creek looking its best,” city officials said.
Gravel removal is scheduled to run from May 8 to 16, while yard waste pickup is planned for May 13 and 14. It gives residents set dates to prepare and place materials out for collection.
The program also includes opportunities for local non-profit groups to give back to the community while raising funds for a cause.
Officials say seniors aged 65 and older and individuals with permanent physical disabilities can access Spring Sweep support by calling 250-784-3604 to request assistance with gravel removal or yard waste pickup.
