South Peace Search and Rescue is hosting their first charity golf tournament on June 12th.
The “On the Course for a Cause 2025 Golf Tournament” will be held at the Dawson Creek Golf & Country Club. The tournament opens with a shotgun start at 1 pm and is a best ball format.
“You call us, it’s the worst day of your life, we would like to be able to make that as comforting, and have the best outcome we possibly can, so we need to be equipped,” said South Peace Search and Rescue President Braid Saunders.
Organizers say the goal is to raise money for further training. Saunders mentioned there is already 10 teams of four players signed up. He said they are looking for eight more team to join before the registration period ends this Sunday.
After the tournament, there’s a dinner followed by a raffle and a silent auction. It’s $500 per team of four and for those who attend the dinner only, it’s $55.
Organizers say the best way to register a team, or to make a donation, is on the South Peace Search and Rescue Facebook page. The South Peace Search and Rescue is a dedicated team of professionals, who volunteer their time for medical rescue, ground search and rescue, evacuation alerts, and more.
