South Peace Scouts to collect Christmas trees in Dawson Creek

With the holiday season officially over, the 1st South Peace Scouts will be collecting Christmas trees in Dawson Creek.

The Christmas tree pickup is scheduled for January 10, and residents are asked to place trees on the curb by 8 am.

The city said trees must not be placed anywhere else. “Trees placed on decks, by garages, or elsewhere on residential property will not be collected,” officials added.

Volunteers are also not permitted to enter properties for liability reasons.

Anyone who misses the pickup date can contact the South Peace Scouts by email at southpeacescouts@gmail.com to arrange a pickup.

In Fort St. John, residents can bring Christmas trees to a temporary recycling drop-off site.

The site is located at the greenspace between the parkour play area and the museum in Centennial Park. Residents can drop off trees until January 9.
