Environment Canada has issued a ‘Yellow Snowfall Warning’ for parts of the Peace Region.

Between 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected from Dawson Creek to Fort St. John, starting Monday evening through to late Tuesday morning.

A frontal system crossing northern B.C. Monday will bring heavy snow to the region, with the highest snowfall expected near Fort St. John.

Precipitation may begin as rain earlier in the day before transitioning to snow as the cold front passes on Monday night.

Driving conditions and visibility is expected to deteriorate quickly. Fort St. John could see 10 to 20 cm by late Tuesday morning, whereas Dawson Creek may see up to 10 cm.

The Snow is expected to taper off by Tuesday afternoon as the system exits the region.

Environment Canada says that roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
