A woman was injured after the plane she was flying crashed near Mackenzie.
Mackenzie RCMP said that a single engine plane flying from Williams Lake to Fort St. John, likely crashed in a remote area and then activated its SOS signal.
The lone female occupant suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, according to the RCMP
Police said the poor weather conditions limited the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre’s ability to approach the site with larger air resources.
An RCMP helicopter was able to locate the scene and land, deploying a police dog, who located the pilot. The woman was flown to hospital.
The Transport Safety Board has conduct of the investigation to determine how the plane may have crashed.
Mounties said a this time there is no indication of any criminality.
