A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for the Dawson Creek area. Meteorologists with Environment Canada said they are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain.
The storm hit Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge just before 5pm Monday and is moving 40 km/h in a northeastward direction.
The public is being reminded to take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If you are outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
