Santa Claus coming to Fort St. John for annual parade and Christmas Tree Light-Up

The Santa Claus Parade and Christmas Tree Light-Up will take place in Fort St. John on Saturday.

The city said the parade will begin at 5 pm from 108 Ave and travel south along 100 street until reaching Centennial Park.

Parade marshalling will also be held at 4 pm, north of 110 Ave on 98 street.

Following the parade, celebrations will feature a Christmas Tree Light-Up, along with free hot dogs and hot chocolate. The tree light-up is set for 6:30 pm.

Festivities will also feature a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.

“Join us for a night filled with holiday joy and festive fun,” the city said on social media.

Several roads will be closed for safety, between 3 pm and the end of the parade, including:

  • 100 Street between 93 and 100 Avenues
  • 94 and 95 Avenues between 100 and 102 Streets
  • 98 Street between 108 and 112 Avenues
  • 110 Avenue between 98 and 100 Streets

The city is asking residents to plan ahead and use alternate routes when driving through Fort St. John on Saturday.
