DAWSON CREEK, B.C.- One of Dawson Creek’s biggest annual celebrations is set to return this week as the Rotary Club of Dawson Creek Sunrise hosts the 2026 Fall Fair Parade on Friday morning.
The parade is expected to draw a big crowd, colourful floats and increased activity throughout the city’s downtown core.
The parade is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to noon on August 7, with participants beginning to stage along McKellar Avenue starting at 8 am.
The event is a longtime highlight of Fall Fair festivities and traditionally attracts families, community groups, local businesses, sports organizations and emergency services.
The parade creates a festive atmosphere that signals the unofficial start of one of the city’s busiest weekends of the year.
A map released by the City of Dawson Creek shows the parade route travelling through the downtown area, beginning near Chamberlain Memorial Pioneer Park before winding through several downtown streets and returning toward Kin Park and McKellar Avenue.
The route will require numerous temporary road closures and traffic restrictions throughout the morning.
Motorists and residents are being warned to expect increased foot traffic and intermittent traffic disruptions along the parade route.
Residents planning to attend are encouraged to arrive early to secure viewing spots and allow extra travel time if heading through the downtown core Friday morning.
