A driver is lucky to escape injury after the car he was driving became submerged in a ditch.
It happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, on Coleman Creek Road near Rolla.
Dawson Creek RCMP said that water from melting snow was flowing across the road. The car began to hydroplane and slid off the road into the ditch.
The car was submerged in water, forcing the driver to kick out a window in order to escape.
Mounties say the driver was shaken up, wet and cold but otherwise uninjured.
A witness tells CJDC TV News, Argo Road Maintenance was called to put up warning signs on the road, after the accident. The company has yet to return our call .
With the arrival of spring, motorists are being urged to take caution as the snow continues to melt.
Police are advising drivers to use caution when water in moving across the surface of the road.
The road could be washed away underneath, and it is sometime impossible to tell how deep the water is.
Mounties say that if there is water present, slow down to a crawl when driving through it.
