Clairmont RCMP are again asking for the public’s help after a pedestrian struck earlier this month, has died from his injuries.

Police say officers from the Clairmont detachment responded to a collision involving a pedestrian on May 8, just after 9 p.m., along Highway 666 between Highway 40 and Grovedale, southwest of Grande Prairie.

The victim, a 30-year-old man from Stony Plain, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He has since succumbed to those injuries, according to an update released Thursday.

Mounties say new information from the public suggests a newer-model grey Ford F-350 may have been in the area at the time.

Investigators believe the truck had pulled over on the side of Highway 666 near O’Brien Provincial Park sometime between 9 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. on the night of the crash.

RCMP are now urging anyone who was in that vehicle, or who may recognize it, to come forward. They are also asking anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the collision to check dashcam footage.

Police previously said the vehicle involved in the collision did not remain at the scene.

Clairmont RCMP are extending condolences to the victim’s family and thanked members of the public who have already provided information to investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clairmont RCMP detachment or reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
