DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - The midway is running, rodeo action is underway and thousands of visitors are expected to make their way through the gates, as the 104th Dawson Creek Exhibition and Stampede heads into the weekend.
As crowds grow throughout the weekend, Dawson Creek RCMP are reminding residents and visitors to make safety a priority while attending the Fall Fair.
Mounties say officers will be increasing patrols throughout the community, with a focus on impaired driving, traffic safety and maintaining public safety in and around the Exhibition and Stampede grounds.
Police its goal is to help ensure everyone can enjoy the Stampede safely and get home without incident.
“Our goal is education and enforcement where necessary, but ultimately we want everyone to make responsible choices and get home safely,” said Sergeant Shawn Peddle.
