The Peace River Regional District will offer a new free service to dispose of old appliances starting on August 15.

Residents will be able to recycle large appliances by dropping them off at any PRRD landfill sites.

The recycling stations will accept both refrigerated and non-refrigerated appliances.

Non-refrigerated:

  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Built-in ovens
  • Dishwashers
  • And similar appliances

Refrigerated:

  • Fridges
  • Freezers
  • Air conditioners
  • Water coolers
  • And similar appliances

“This service is now free thanks to a partnership with the Major Appliance Recycling Roundtable,” said the PRRD. The district added it will help reduce landfill waste.
