POUCE COUPE, B.C. – The Village of Pouce Coupe is taking the next step toward expanding and modernizing its fire hall, issuing a request for proposals for architectural and engineering services to move the project into the detailed design stage.
The Village is seeking a qualified consulting firm to advance the preferred concept identified in a completed Fire Hall Feasibility Study.
The project would see significant upgrades to the community’s fire hall and emergency services infrastructure.
Proposed work includes reviewing and incorporating improvements for apparatus bays, firefighter decontamination areas, training space, administrative areas, storage facilities, washrooms, lockers, and supporting utility spaces.
The Village said the successful consultant will serve as the prime consultant for the project and will be responsible for coordinating all required professional disciplines and subconsultants.
As part of the work, the consultant will review the completed feasibility study and advance the study’s preferred “Option 2” concept.
The project scope also calls for construction cost estimates at key design milestones, identification of permitting and regulatory requirements, and development of final construction documents suitable for tendering.
The Village noted that the project remains dependent, in part, on grant funding.
The RFP states the municipality reserves the right not to proceed with the project if funding applications related to the scope of work are unsuccessful.
Proposals are due by 10 a.m. Pacific Time on October7, with submissions being accepted electronically.
