The Village of Pouce Coupe has announced the completion of the Lagoon Bank Stabilization Project that was conducted over 2024 and 2025.
The stabilization work was in response to ongoing erosion and infrastructure risks at the lagoon site.
Village officials said the work stems from the 2016 flood and ensures long-term protection for the wastewater treatment system and the environment. Improvements included slope reinforcement, drainage enhancements, and protective armouring along the lagoon bank to protect the bank from erosion.
“While investments in lagoon and wastewater infrastructure are often far from the minds of residents, projects like this enhance the future of our community and provide the services that our residents depend on” said Mayor Danielle Veach.
The Village received a grant of $3,005,440 to complete Phases I and II of the project.
