Possible measles exposure reported at Emergency Department at Fort St. John Hospital

The BC Centre For Disease Control (BC CDC) is reporting a new potential measles exposure in Fort St. John.

The BC CDC said the potential exposure occurred between 11:35pm on January 17 and 10:10am January 18th.

Health officials say that anyone who was in the Emergency Department during that time, may have been exposed to the highly contagious virus.

This is the first possible measles exposure in Fort St. John since December 31, according to the BC CDC.

The Centre for Disease Control said in its latest update that the total number of measles cases in Northeast BC has reached 313.
