DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Police say officers responded to approximately a dozen calls for service at or around the Dawson Creek Fall Fair and Rodeo Grounds over the weekend.
Dawson Creek RCMP said officers were called to a variety of incidents throughout the event, as thousands of people attended the annual fair and rodeo.
Most of the investigations were related to alcohol consumption and youth-related issues.
In a separate incident, the BC Highway Patrol removed an impaired driver from the road during the weekend. Police did not release additional details about that investigation.
Despite the calls for service, authorities described the weekend as relatively uneventful from a policing perspective.
The Dawson Creek Fall Fair and Rodeo is one of the city’s largest annual events, drawing residents and visitors from across the Peace Region for a weekend of rodeo action, agricultural exhibits and family entertainment.
