The MLA for Peace River North is denying allegations of blackmail from the leader of the BC Conservatives.

Jordan Kealy says those allegations made in an internal memo from John Rustad are false.

Kealy says in a statement that allegations of political misconduct made against him and others in the letter are an act of desperation by Rustad, who he says is losing control of his party.

Kealy, who was elected as a Conservative but left the party to sit as an independent, says he welcomes a police investigation that’s been requested by the N-D-P.

Kealy says he remains focused on serving his constituents but believes there’s mounting evidence that the party’s annual general meeting was marred by misconduct.
