The Peace Pregnancy Support Centre is hosting a barbecue fundraiser on Friday to help support the programs and services it provides to individuals and families in the community.
The centre offers a range of resources for people experiencing an unexpected or difficult pregnancy, including educational support, post-pregnancy and post-abortion care, free pregnancy testing and referrals to additional community services.
The barbecue will take place at the green space between Obair and Brass Scissors Hair Designs between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
“Bring your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbours, and help us make this fundraiser a great success,” organizers said, adding that visitors can enjoy cheeseburgers, hot dogs, pop and chips.
Funds raised through the event will help the organization continue providing those supports to local residents.
The fundraiser comes after the Peace Pregnancy Support Centre recently moved to a new downtown Dawson Creek location.
In addition to its pregnancy support services, the centre hosts weekly moms’ groups on Wednesdays, giving mothers an opportunity to connect with others, receive encouragement and share their experiences.
