TRUTCH, B.C. - A wildfire discovered earlier this week in the Northern Rocky Mountians Park has grown to 21 hectares and is now classified as out of control.
The blaze was discovered September 29 near Creham Creek and Muskwa Junction. The suspected cause is listed as human activity.
The fire is burning near the Elisi Spa & Wilderness Resort, about 43 kilometres northwest of Trutch.
The resort owner says the property is currently closed for the season.
As of Wednesday, the BC Wildfire Service had advised the owner it would continue monitoring the situation.
The fire comes at the tail end of what has been a relatively quiet wildfire season across northeastern B.C.
No evacuation orders or alerts were mentioned in the information provided.
