FORT NELSON, B.C. - A Northern Rockies RCMP officer has been charged with assault with a weapon in connection with an incident that occurred in Fort Nelson last year.

The BC Prosecution Service announced Thursday that Constable Maxim Pinke has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon under Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.

The charge stems from an incident alleged to have occurred on November 6, 2025, in Fort Nelson.

Pinke is scheduled to make his first appearance in Fort Nelson Provincial Court on October 26 at 1 p.m.

As the matter is now before the courts, the BC Prosecution Service says it will not provide any additional information or comment further at this time.
