DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Northern Lights College is calling on residents across Northern B.C. to support the next generation of health care professionals through its annual Giving Day campaign.
The month-long fundraiser runs from November 1 to December 1 and is focused on raising money for health care students studying at campuses throughout the region.
College officials say funds raised will help support educational opportunities and provide essential clinical training tools for students preparing to enter the health care workforce.
According to the campaign, every donation made through Giving Day will go directly toward supporting local health care students.
The college has set a fundraising goal of $15,000.
Residents can contribute in several ways, including making a direct donation, purchasing tickets in a 50/50 draw, or ordering Giving Day goodie boxes featuring sugar cookie decorating kits created by Northern Lights College cook training students.
The winning 50/50 ticket will be drawn December 1.
Northern Lights College says this year’s campaign comes as communities across Northern B.C. continue to experience growing demand for health care services and skilled workers.
Organizers say the fundraiser is intended to help prepare future health professionals while keeping training opportunities close to home.
Giving Day is part of a broader movement that encourages individuals, businesses and organizations to support causes that strengthen their communities through donations, volunteerism and other charitable efforts.
Residents interested in supporting the campaign can find donation, raffle and sponsorship information through the Northern Lights College Giving Day website.
