As respiratory illness season begins, Northern Health has released details for its fall immunization campaign.

In the Dawson Creek area, residents of all ages can receive flu and COVID-19 vaccines between October 31 and December 19 at the Dawson Creek Health Unit. Appointments can be booked by calling 250-719-6500.

In Fort St. John, appointments for children aged six months to 11 years can be booked on specific dates at the Fort St. John Medical Clinic.

Clinics will be held on November 4, 13, 18, 27, and December 16. Residents can register their children by calling 1-833-838-2323.

For anyone over the age of 11, Northern health recommends contacting a local pharmacist to book an appointment, since Northern Health clinics in the city are currently limited to children under 12.

Residents in other communities across the Peace Region can choose to visit a Northern Health clinic or speak with a local pharmacist to book a vaccination.

In Chetwynd, flu and COVID-19 shots will be available for all ages at the Chetwynd Primary Care Clinic from October 21 to December 12. Residents can book appointments for that period.

For the Tumbler Ridge area, residents of all ages can either book appointments or attend drop-in clinics between November 13 and December 18 at the Tumbler Ridge Health Centre.

In Fort Nelson, appointments can be booked on five specific days in November at the Fort Nelson Health Unit by calling 250-774-7092.

Details for other communities can be found on the Northern Health website. Residents can also register to get immunized online through the Get Vaccinated system.

The health authority added that additional clinics may be added as the respiratory illness season progresses.
