Residents across Northern B.C., including the Peace Region, are being invited to help shape the future of health care as Northern Health begins work on a new strategic plan.
In an outreach shared with staff and the public, Northern Health says it is looking to gather feedback from people living and working in northern communities about their experiences with the health system and what they want to see in the years ahead.
Health officials say input from patients, families, staff and community partners will help determine priorities for the next plan, with a focus on reflecting the “diverse needs, values, and realities” of northern residents.
The engagement process will include a mix of in-person sessions, virtual meetings and an online survey, aimed at making participation accessible across the region.
For communities in Northeast B.C., several public sessions have already been scheduled, giving residents a chance to speak directly with Northern Health representatives.
Officials say the feedback collected will help guide decisions about how care is delivered across the North, including in smaller and rural communities like Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Fort Nelson.
Northern Health is encouraging residents to take part, saying community voices will play a key role in shaping the direction of health care services in the coming years.
