The BC Centre for Disease Control has reported eight new measles cases in the Northern Health region, bringing the total there to 142.
Health officials also confirmed a new measles case for both the Fraser Health and Interior Health regions, raising the total to 194 across BC.
According to the BC CDC, there is only one current active case across the province, located in Northeast BC.
They added that 88 percent of all confirmed cases involve people who were not vaccinated against the virus.
Medical experts say the best way to protect yourself after exposure to measles is to get vaccinated with the MMR vaccine. You can contact your local health unit to schedule a vaccination appointment.
