Residents are being advised that Public Health is reporting a new potential measles exposure location in the Fort St. John area.
Northern Health said the possible exposure took place on Canada Day at the Fort St. John Hospital Emergency Department, from 4:35 am to 6:05 am, and again from 6:35 pm to 12:03 am on July 2.
Health officials are asking anyone who has been exposed to the virus to stay isolated for a period of at least 4 days, and to seek medical treatment.
The BC Centre for Disease Control has confirmed 10 new measles cases for the Northern Health region Monday. The region now has 71 confirmed cases, but no active cases.
The BC CDC says Northern Health is not the only region seeing new cases. Fraser Heath added 2 cases to their count, bringing their total to 9. The new total number of measles cases is now sitting at 99 across the province.
The BC CDC says Fraser Health is the only region having one confirmed active case.
