Northeast BC again only region with new measles cases, according to BC CDC

Northeast BC is once again the only region in the province with new cases of the measles, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.

The health agency has reported 10 new cases in the northeast, raising the total there to 207 for the year.

That’s 175 more cases than Fraser East, which is the second Health Service Delivery Area with the most cases behind Northeast BC.

The BC CDC said the total number of measles cases in the province has reached 292 so far in 2025.

Health officials said the measles virus is still circulating in the North Peace area. Vaccination rates in Northeast BC continue to be below the provincial average.
