There has been another murder in the South Peace Region after a body was discovered in a burnt-out vehicle, near Farmington.
On Monday, the Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a report of a burnt-out vehicle on 251 Road, near the Kiskatinaw River.
They arrived at the scene to find a body inside the car. It’s not clear who was inside or how they were killed.
Police say the vehicle was a silver 2005 Mazda 6 that possibly had Alberta license plates. “All indications suggest that this is a homicide, and police look to the public to help further the investigation. We are looking to speak to anyone that may have knowledge of this incident, or that had seen a grey 2005 Mazda 6” said Supt Wijayakoon of the BC-RCMP

The North District Major Crime Unit has taken over the homicide investigation. Mounties are looking to speak with anyone that may have saw smoke in the area, in the days leading up to October 13th.
Homicide Investigators are also looking for video footage from game cameras that are set up in the area where the vehicle was located. If you have any information about this case, you are asked to call the RCMP at 1-877-987-8477.
The body was located near Deadman’s Curve in the same area where Renee Didier remains were located in May of 2024.
