A man reported missing by the Fort St. John RCMP has been identified, after a body was discovered in burnt-out vehicle, near Farmington.
On October 13th, police discovered the remains of Jesse Twain in a silver 2005 Mazda 6 on 251 Road, near the Kiskatinaw River.
Three days after Twain’s body was discovered, police said it wasn’t clear who was inside the vehicle or how they were killed.
“All indications suggest that this is a homicide, and police look to the public to help further the investigation,” said Supt Sanjaya Wijayakoon of the BC-RCMP, after Twain’s body was discovered.
Sources close to the investigation tell CJDC TV News, that Twain’s DNA had to be matched with that of a family member in order to identify him.
Less than a week after his remains were discovered, the Fort St. John RCMP requested the public’s help in locating Twain.
The 29-year-old from Edmonton was last seen on approximately October 10, 2025, in the Fort St. John, BC, area.
A press release said his family and the Fort St. John RCMP had reason to be concerned for his wellbeing.
It is not clear at this point why Twain was in the Fort St. John area, why he was murdered or if police have a suspect or suspects in the case.
