DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - A man is facing multiple charges after RCMP say several people were randomly assaulted in public, in Dawson Creek last week.
According to police, officers are aware of as many as four separate incidents that allegedly may involved the same suspect.
In one case, RCMP say a man was walking near 13th Street last Friday, when a person unknown to him approached and allegedly punched him in the head.
The victim suffered minor injuries. Police say the suspect was arrested a short time later.
Investigators say the suspect has no fixed address and is new to Dawson Creek.
Mounties are working to determine if he could be responsible for other unprovoked attacks recently.
RCMP say one woman reported being randomly punched in the face, while another man told police, the suspect attempted to punch him but missed.
Mounties say three of the four alleged incidents were never reported to police. Investigators are now asking any additional victims or witnesses to come forward.
The accused has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the man remains in custody at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
