A man has been arrested after Fort St. John RCMP allege he pointed a gun at a member of the public.

It happened Thursday night just before 10 pm, in the area of 87 Street and 99 Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene they found two individuals. One was an intoxicated man matching the description of the suspect.

The man was arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. A black pistol was found on the man and seized by police. The pistol was later determined to be a BB pistol.

“Because the Fort St John RCMP take firearms calls very seriously, calls of this nature will always draw a significant police response,” said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Fort St John RCMP Media Relations Officer.

The man was taken to the Fort St John RCMP detachment and released on an undertaking with protective conditions and a future court date of November 24, 2025.

“Thank you to the public who saw something they knew wasn’t right and reported it to police in the interest of public safety,” said Neustaeter
