A motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after an accident in Dawson Creek on Wednesday, according to the Dawson Creek RCMP.

Mounties said a driver was crossing Alaska Avenue from the Comfort Inn parking lot, when the motorcyclist hit the passenger side of the vehicle.

The 61 year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

After reviewing CCTV footage, investigators said that speed is not considered to be a factor.

Police are considering charges under the Motor Vehicle Act. At this point, it remains unclear who would be facing charges, if they are approved. Mounties continue their investigation into the crash.
