A Provincial Court judge has released a man on bail after he was charged with allegedly kidnapping a minor.
On Friday, David Dennis was charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of invitation to sexual touching under the age of 16. Judge Tamera Golinksy released Dennis from police custody on $2500 bail.
On Friday, Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a dropped 911 call around 4 o’clock in the morning. However, they were later able to make contact with the young girl.
Officers found her in the 11,000 block of 13th Street. Sources tell CJDC TV News the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
Dennis was later located by police and taken into custody. Dennis has a criminal history spanning 2 decades, including being found guilty of assault and theft. He has also been found guilty of breaching a recognizance order and failure to appear in the past.
Dennis’ next scheduled court appearance is May 27th.
