Improved and expanded travel options coming to Fort St. John residents using handyDART

BC Transit says that handyDARTs make more than 390,000 trips in the Greater Victoria region each year: (BC Gov)

Residents of Fort St. John who use handyDART services will soon have improved and expanded travel options on Sundays.

“handyDART is an accessible, door-to-door shared transit service for people with permanent or temporary disabilities,” BC Transit explained.

The Ministry of Transportation and Transit is expecting to introduce more than 500 additional hours of service each year.

The expanded service begins in September and will run every Sunday from 7 am to 7 pm.

“Expanding handyDART service on Sundays means more people in Fort St. John will have access to safe, reliable transit when they need it most,” said George Anderson, parliamentary secretary for transit.

The province said this improvement builds on the work done throughout BC to provide improved transit services and connect communities.
