The emergency department at the Hudson’s Hope Heath Centre is once again on diversion, with Northern Health saying the closure is expected to last more than a week.

According to Northern Health’s ER status website, emergency services are scheduled to resume Monday, May 18, at 8:30 a.m.

The latest diversion marks the first emergency room closure in the community since May 1, and the 34th recorded in the past 77 days.

Hudson’s Hope is currently being served by one physician working part-time. The focus has been placed on primary care, which has often forced the emergency room to close.
