A homicide investigation is underway after one person was allegedly killed after an altercation at the Charlie Lake boat launch late Friday night.
Fort St. John RCMP were called to the scene just after 11pm Friday. Mounties said that several people had been involved in an altercation, during which one person sustained serious injuries.
The injured individual was rushed to hospital by friends but succumbed to their injuries, according to police.
The area around the boat ramp has been closed while investigators process the scene and gather evidence.

The North District Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages, and no further details are being released at this time.
