Highway 97 closure planned at Pine Pass for bridge work Saturday

PINE PASS, B.C. - Drivers travelling through the Pine Pass this weekend should prepare for delays as Highway 97 will be temporarily closed for bridge work.

A full closure of Highway 97 is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to allow crews to complete planned maintenance work.

The closure will affect traffic in both directions through the Pine Pass. While the work is expected to take about 45 minutes, a one-hour closure window has been scheduled in case of unforeseen delays.

The work site is located at the Marten Creek Bridge along Highway 97 South in the Pine Pass.

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead and expect delays during the closure. Drivers can check DriveBC for the latest highway conditions and traffic updates before travelling.

According to Melissa Beck, project coordinator with Argo Road Maintenance, the temporary closure is required to accommodate scheduled bridge work.
